Disaster recovery support may need to address loneliness and purpose, not just social ties

Researchers at Kanazawa University analyzed data from 16,296 adults affected by the 2024 Noto Peninsula earthquake and the subsequent heavy rainfall disaster to examine factors associated with psychological distress and the relationships among social networks, loneliness and purpose in life.
